Pirate Band thankful even after disappointing Marching Contest result

At the UIL Region XI Marching Contest on Saturday, the Pirate Band fell just short of accomplishing our goal of a 1st Division and a trip to the UIL Area E Marching Contest.  The judges were split, but unfortunately, the majority scored it as a 2nd Division – a 2-2-1, which translates to a 2nd Division overall, and therefore no trip to Area this Saturday.  The band students worked very hard all summer and had to overcome many obstacles along the way.  I am proud of their work, and proud of the way they conducted themselves when we received the disappointing news.

I want to give a huge thanks to Mrs. Bibler for attending the contest to support us, and to Mrs. VanDeWalle for giving up Saturday to be there and to get pictures for us.  That was way above the call of duty!

Thanks to all the Lytle ISD family for the encouragement you have given the band this year.
