LHS UIL Team rocks practice meet in Bandera

This past Saturday, the UIL Academic Team traveled to Bandera to participate in their first practice meet. Although the meet was right next door, it was not a small town affair. School competing included Alexander, Brandeis, Eagle Pass, Gregory-Portland, LBJ, Marshall, McCollum, Roosevelt, South San, Southside, Southwest, United, Uvalde, Waller (near Houston), Bandera, Boerne, Carrizo, Crystal City, Devine, D'Hanis, Freer, Hondo, Kennedy, Kingsville, Knippa, Marion, Mathis, Pleasanton, and Three Rivers.
Laredo United High School won  the large school Sweepstakes, and Knippa High School won the Small School Sweepstakes.
Our students walked away with some winners and a good understanding of what we have to do to get ready for district which is March 19 & 22 on our campus.
Andrea Balderas won first place in editorial writing.
Zoe Emley won first place in news writing.
Rebekah Lytle won third place in editorial writing.
Brittany Miller won fourth place in literary criticism.
