Robo Pirates from LHS qualify for Alamo Region Robotics Championships

This past Saturday, the Robo Pirates from Lytle High School competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics qualifier tournament at Brandeis High School. The team ranked 2nd at the end of the first round of play and earned the right to be the Captain of an alliance in the elimination round. Unfortunately, our alliance fell in the best-of-three semifinals after mechanical issues in match 1 and an extremely close match 2 that did not go our way. However, the judges were impressed with our design and documentation which earned the team the Innovate Award and qualified us for the Alamo Region Championships! We will compete again this weekend against 80 other teams in the big 2-day event held at Valero headquarters.
