LHS UIL Academic Team travels to Somerset for practice meet

This weekend the UIL Academic Team traveled to Somerset for a practice meet. For many students, this was their first time every competing in high school UIL.

In Computer Applications, Gabriel Voorhees placed 5th and Johnny Paredes placed 6th.

In Current Events, Jacob Lytle placed 6th and the team of Jacob, Joseph Perez, Gage Eichman, and Antonio Gonzales placed 3rd.

In Spelling, Bri McDonald placed 6th.

In Science, Gage Eichman placed 5th.

In Feature Writing, Bri McDonald showed her senior experience and placed 1st, and she placed 3rd in editorial writing.

In Social Studies, Christopher Lacy placed 6th, and the team of Chris, Jacob Lytle, Joseph Perez, and Mauricio Castillo placed 3rd.

In headline writing, Patrick Garcia placed 3rd.

In Persuasive Speaking, Michael Bradshaw placed 4th.

Please take a moment to congratulate these students.  They competed again some big school teams such as Smithson Valley, and Memorial.  The team will be going to district competition the Wednesday and Thursday after Spring Break.
